The LBJ Fire Academy recruiting period is closed!

Check back in the fall for the recruiting window to open for the next EMS and Fire classes.

The cadet selection process is highly competitive.

The eligibility criteria is:

• Be a sophomore

• Be on pace to graduate

• No disciplinary actions

The LBJ Fire Academy selection process includes:

• Complete the Student Information Packet

• Submit the Student Information Packet prior to the deadline

• Student Information packet review and ranking

• Announce results prior to spring break

Students from all Austin ISD high schools may attend the LBJ Fire Academy.

  Students attending Akins, Bowie, or Crockett high schools will need to provide their own transportation to the LBJ ECHS campus.
